Day 3, 8-2-13, School, Genadendal museum, Caledon

Dag 3 8-2-13 School, Genadendal museum, Caledon.

Stood up at 5.45 to shower, very warm because the ‘cold’ knob didn’t work. Then breakfast and after that to school. We walked inside in rows and there were speeches, but appearently this is only on Fridays. We had a little tour around the school, where you walk a lot outside or in the open air, which is very nice. We also introduced ourselves in classes and after that we followed lessons. With lessons boys and girls walk in separately. When the teacher comes in they stand up and greet. The weather was quite warm, but luckily there was some wind. I didn’t had a lot of water with me, so I got a bit of a headache. In English class I showed photos. They were really interested, the South-Africans form the group were I was sitting. They especially liked to see my boyfriend, well Rense, they thought you were very handsome and that we make a perfect couple ;) In the afternoon we went to Caledon (a small city about 30 minutes from Genadendal) to get money and food (at a spar!). Everyone felt really rich with the 100R bills (which is actually less then 10 euro), but it looks massive, so it’s a shock when you need to pay 17R something for oreo’s, but that’s just 1,70 euro!! Lisa and I bought water, ice creams, cookies etc.. In the afternoon we hung out outside and in our room and together with Loes, Demi and especially Lisa the new YOLO-motto was born. We yelled it all the time, we still do. If you want to do it right, you have to put your two pointing fingers up in the air as you yell it, you may try it right now if you want. Our cookies turned into yolo-cookies. It’s a long and useless story to explain were that ‘ yolo’ came from, but it was a lot of fun. The sphere is very god. We also had a meeting, it’s very nice to talk about the experiences we’re going through and especially how we experience it. Furthermore we already spotted a lot of bugs…

Het was superwarm op school, de leraren kunnen doen wat ze willen, soms zit je een kwartier of het hele uur te wachten voor er iemand komt. We hadden erg last van vermoeidheid en onze voeten waren ook kapot. Het genadendal museum ging daarom snel voorbij, nog best mooie dingen gezien, en er is hier ook een pottenbakkerij, waar je hele leuke genadendal-dingen kunt kopen. Daarna gingen we naar Caledon, om te pinnen en eten in te slaan. Hier lopen we al snel met briefjes van 100, dat voelt natuurlijk keimachtig, maar het is maar 10 euro! Eten, ijs, drinken ingeslagen en richting huis gegaan. Heel veel lol gehad op de kamer met de meiden, ook met de mensen van isendoorn, zo gezellig. ook hadden we een meeting, erg leuk om met mensen over de ervaringen te praten.

Moet nu gaan, nog maar kwartiertje, bieb (internetcafe) gaat sluiten in 15 min! Snel ff facebook checken.
