day 4, 9-2-13, Robbenisland/Capetown

Day 4 9-2-13 Capetown/Robbenisland.
We had a lot of fun with the yolo cookies yesterday, Lisa and I ate one and then ran around the courtyard screaming ‘ yoloo!’ it was a lot of fun, I don’t even see the difference between obc and ic anymore, everyone talks to everyone. In the bus to Capetown (with Yusuf driving and Pim, Sergio, Loes, Lonneke, Iris and Nienke in the back) we had a good conversation about apartheid and discrimination. It was very nice and good to talk about that with the rest, and Yusuf is Islamic, so he could share his experiences, it was nice to hear meanings about it from him and the rest.
They told us it was going to be 40 degrees this day, but it already rained in the morning, and as we arrived on Robben Island it started to rain cats and dogs. On Robben Island we got a tour by bus. We also talked to someone who was imprisoned there. I thought it was quite interesting, because I didn’t had much expectations, I didn’t know much of Robben Island yet. Most of the rest was a bit disappointed, but maybe it was the weather. We needed to walk the last part, from the prison to the harbor, and it was raining very hard, so everyone was soaken wet and very cold. After that we had free time in Capetown. We stayed in the mall, because we didn’t feel like going outside again. You didn’t saw much South-Africans there, it was almost as if we were walking in Holland, or at least Europe, with all the fancy brands etc.. We ate there, at the mac (we didn’t got the wifi to work, and it’s still dramatic) and some salads in a café, we looked around a bit and then it was already time to go.

Ja, wel jammer dat ik het niet elke dag kon bijhouden, nou komt meer dan de helft als ik al terug ben.. das wel sund.
Vanavond nog een boboti dinner, het regende trouwens wel vanochtend! ;o
Morgen hopelijk niet te warm want dan moet ik met lange broek en dikke nikes het vliegtuig in (en van tevoren hebben we nog 2 uur vrij in kaapstad) hahaha
