Day 6. 11-2-13. school & home of buddies

Today we had to wake up early again. At school there were no teachers most hours, then we just sat and wait in class. I've also been asked for Valentine's day, mygod. I rejected it as nicely as possible.
In the afternoon we went to our buddies' houses. Jadine has two nieces, Waynita and le landie, which are the buddies of Lonneke and Lisanne. So we went with the seven of us, because Yvette also came along. It was very nice, we got to see all three houses. Jadine's house was the highest on the mountain (they all three live in Genadendal) and also the biggest. Compared to us it was a lot smaller, but for South-Africa it was fine I think. There were a lot of colours, that was very nice. Houses in South-Africa are build with creative, colourful minds, here we all use brick and not much colours. Every house in South-Africa is original. The other houses got smaller, the further we went down the mountain and away from the center.
We got cookies, snacks and delicious homemade muffins at the house of Le Landie, the second house. It was very sweet of them, and we got to eat first, while we of course rather like them to sit down with us and eat and drink all together, but that's just the good hospitality there.
As dinner we had spaghetti with the group and after that we had a meeting. Some had really been in the slums, some cried, it was shocking. Everyone is going on the same trip, but everyone goes through it differently, so it's nice to hear what everyone thinks or what everyone goes through.
As the meeting was coming to an end the phone rang, and I knew it was for me, my friends were calling. I'll admit I cried, I thought it was rude to just walk away, but my friends were so close! (Evelien, Inge, Marlon, Sanne, Rense, who were together to celebrate Carnaval) After that they called again luckily, and I also talked to my parents. It was nice to hear their voices, but we couldn't really have deep conversations or such.
Today we started to compare this trip to rehab, with the meetings in a big circle, no internet, tears, hugs... Well, we can laugh about it!
