1. Preparation - first gathering

Tonight we had our first gathering with all the students that would join, it was time to start the journal too. Let's start at the beginning.

This year/next year I have to do a english scolarship for my bilangual education. This year the school had organized the trip to South-Africa again (India didn't go on), so me and two friends signed up. Too bad only my letter was good enough (I will miss you!). A lot of other people had signed in, but now we have a group of about 24 (??) students, I'm not sure. My South-Africa journey already started signing in, but I had the luck to be one of the first five students that also got a South-African exchange student. So about a month ago I started my written journal, with stories about Thandiwe, a sixteen years old girl from South-Africa. It was very nice doing activities with the group, you experience things different with them. How they react, how they act, how they are.. but it was very nice. I had a great time. I already started a written journal, so actually I'm going to keep two journals this journey.. maybe even better to preserve the memory :)

We started thinking about the fundraising and the lessons we will have to give there and we already had a lot of ideas. So everyone is very excited and with a gathering such as tonight I start to realize even more that I'm really going to South-Africa! I really hope we can do something for the people there, I hope I will learn a lot and experience a whole different world. I've never been out of Europe/on a plane before so it's going to be big for me.. but on the other side, we can travel all the time, for some people this would be huge, for most people impossible. We/I am lucky. We should realize that.
